Cancer remains one of the most pressing public health challenges of our time. At the same time, it is an area marked by rapid scientific progress, innovation, and strong European cooperation.
The Quality of Life Summit 2026 brings together policymakers, researchers, healthcare professionals, civil society representatives, and people with lived experience to explore how research, care, and policy can translate into meaningful improvements in quality of life for people affected by cancer.
Held under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Summit will focus on key priorities shaping the future of cancer care at European and national levels, including:
🔹Prevention and early detection
🔹Research and innovation in oncology
🔹Survivorship and long‑term follow‑up
🔹Psychosocial well‑being and mental health
🔹Equitable access to high‑quality care
🔹Digital solutions and innovation in oncology
Placing people at the centre of cancer policy and care, the programme will include personal perspectives from individuals affected by cancer, highlighting lived experience alongside scientific and policy discussions. Participants will also have opportunities to connect, exchange knowledge, and foster collaboration through dedicated networking sessions and an exhibition of innovative, EU‑funded initiatives.
