Scheherazade: One Thousand and One Nights in Paphos

‘Scheherazade: One Thousand and One Nights’, performed by the Italian state theatre Balletto di Milano – for the first time in Cyprus!
Inspired by the magical atmosphere of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, this ballet transports the audience into the world of oriental fairy tales.
Scheherazade, whose name means ‘daughter of the city’, tells the sultan new stories night after night. Each one seems to stand time still and opens the doors to a world of fantasy. The original production features music by two great composers — Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Aram Khachaturian — creating a rich musical palette and heightening the drama.
This production is aimed at the widest possible audience. It combines expressive visual aesthetics, virtuoso choreography and a profound theme that remains relevant today.
