After years of trying to explain Cyprus to the rest of the world (and to Cypriots themselves), comedian Yorkos Kyriakou finally decided to turn national confusion into a comedy tour. His new English-speaking solo show, “Yorkos the Comically Cypriot”, will hit Nicosia, Larnaka, Paphos, and Limassol this December — proving once and for all that being Cypriot is not a nationality… it’s a full-time personality disorder.
Yorkos dives into everything from the art of Tsiatista, the lore of the Halloumi, the multiplicity of the Shisto, to the ever-changing socioecomical landscape of Cyprus that forces us to keep up or stay with our moms.
The show combines Cypriot absurdity, Mediterranean storytelling, and international-level stand-up, all delivered with Yorkos’ trademark mix of charm, irony, and passive-aggressive patriotism.
